UAW Local 3047 12/4/25 Letter from the President

  Greetings to all of our siblings of UAW Local 3047,

       This week we have our International Health and Safety reps in the plant for our annual Health and Safety Audit. You will most likely see two groups of people made up of our health and safety team and the company's health and safety staff walking through the plant looking for health and safety hazards. This is a joint effort to help ensure the health and safety of our membership. Please be mindful of your surroundings and make sure you are wearing your ppe. As we continue to wrap up this year what we have been told by the company is after December 20,2025 we will be out until January 2,2026. This shutdown is a planned shutdown that is typical for this time of year. Typically we have shutdowns in July and December. As far as our work schedule goes according to the company we are back on track and things look good moving forward. I hope this helps to lessen your stress and worries about the future of our jobs. I hope that everyone has the happiest holidays and our monthly membership meeting for December will be at the union hall Wednesday December 10,2025. I hope to see everyone there.
