Bargaining Update – Day 10

     Just as we said in our last update, it’s been a long day for us over here. We’ve been hard at work since early this morning, and up until after midnight, knowing that our time here is drawing to a close.

     Understand that we will fight to the bitter end out of passion for our membership.

     We ran through the economic pass that the company gave back to us, and it’s a lot of documentation. We had to stay focused and prioritize what’s really important to the Union body in Local 1821.

     We held our ground on the issue of the company skipping steps in discipline. This is something that we recognize our Local is extremely passionate about, however we believe that it’s just something we will not see eye to eye on with the Company. We want to prepare you to see this in the company's offer. It’s unfortunate, but the most important step is making sure our brothers and sisters are prepared for some tough decisions.

     Bear in mind, every single proposal and pass that is still on the table is being negotiated. We still have time to see some movement and we never want to give the impression that there aren't anymore improvements to be made. We are consistently trying to bridge that gap of communication that we haven’t seen in the past, and know that this will positively affect our membership as a whole. Along with transparency and communication, comes difficult truths. Along with difficult truths, comes room for improvement!
