Bargaining Update – Day 11

With our weeks of bargaining coming to a close, our team can confidently say that we put 110% into the last two weeks so that we can bring back a contract that every single one of you can benefit exponentially from.
The ones that struggle every day to put food on the table, that need to work two or three jobs to make ends meet, the people that have to justify whether or not it’s affordable to see a doctor, or go to a vet, our mission while being here has always been and always will be for you, the membership. We have you all in our hearts and minds as we pass our last offer across the table. We poured our hearts out to the Company, allowing ourselves a moment of vulnerability in hopes that we could make some positive movement.
With that being said, we came to some last minute agreements and can proudly say that after all of our tireless work, we will back the offer that you’ll see soon. Our team has been successful in meeting a significant amount of the demands we’ve seen in your surveys and many other benefits that should be taken into consideration when going to vote on this agreement.
Let’s recap on some of the improvements you can look forward to!
- Significant General Wage Increases(GWIs)
- More impactful Automatic Rate Progressions(ARPs)
- Cost Of Living Allowance lump sums(COLA)
- Record high ratification bonus
- More flexible PAA time
- Increased differentials
- Four times the amount of parental leave
Our Local 1821 bargaining team and membership back home made a difference this time around, and we can feel the support like we never have before. Also, your local representatives weren’t the only ones that helped us get to this point. Our international support was truly uplifting. We want to genuinely thank the brothers and sisters that both helped at the table and from miles away in this journey.
Though emotional and testing, we made it this far with true intentions, and are proud to represent each and every one of you in this offer.
In The Utmost Solidarity,
Your Local 1821 Bargaining Team
