Bargaining Update – Day 2

Today marked the second day of negotiations between your bargaining team and Lockheed Martin Ocala. We began the morning by reviewing the proposals we received yesterday, preparing questions and clarifying our approach before entering back into discussions.

In our joint session with the company, we provided feedback and requests for clarification on several of the items they brought forward. Some of the company’s proposals would significantly reduce longstanding protections and practices.

These proposals include:

  • Reducing the number of union representatives
  • Limiting your ability to use vacation time with short notice
  • Restricting the ability to attend monthly union meetings without penalty by not excusing any lost time
  • Extending the timeline on discipline
  • Distributing lost time for absence from scheduled overtime

Despite the challenging nature of these proposals, your bargaining team pushed back and offered constructive solutions that reflect your priorities and rights as workers. Importantly, we reached tentative agreements on three non-economic items today — a sign that, while we face real disagreements, progress is still possible at the table.

We also took time to raise and discuss health and safety concerns directly with the company, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a safe workplace.

At this stage, we are still addressing non-economic proposals. Economic issues, including wages and benefits will be addressed in a later phase of negotiations.

We will continue to keep you informed as talks progress. Your solidarity is our strength at the table.

Let’s Walk Together – Solidarity Walk Tomorrow

Tomorrow, we’re inviting everyone to join in a Solidarity Walk during lunch as a visible reminder that we’re united and paying attention. This is a peaceful, powerful way to show the company that behind every bargaining team member, there’s a strong and unified membership standing together.

Whether you've been here a few months or a few decades, your presence matters. Every step we take together sends a clear message: we’re watching, we care, and we’re not backing down from what’s fair.

Please reach out to your union steward for details about where to meet and how to participate. Don’t forget to WEAR RED!!

Solidarity is more than a word, it's an ACTION. Let’s take that action together tomorrow.

In solidarity,

Local 1821 Bargaining Team
