First off, we want to apologize for the late update tonight. It’s been another long day at the table, and these late nights may start becoming more common as we keep pushing hard for the contract that we all deserve..

Before diving into today’s details, we want to say thank you to every single one of you who came out and participated in the strike authorization vote. Your voices were heard loud and clear with 96% VOTING YES to authorize a strike if necessary. That strong example of unity sends a powerful message to the company that we’re serious about fighting for fair treatment and respect.

Today, we made real progress. We were able to agree to a lot of language and are seeing positive movement on several important issues. One of the big wins of the day was around bump language. We’re close to getting that to apply not just to shifts but also to schedules, which is a step in the right direction.

We also saw significant progress toward getting more overtime opportunities for 2nd shift, which is something we’ve been pushing for. That’s a good sign that our persistence is paying off.

That said, there are still areas where the company is refusing to move. They are not budging on eliminating the lost time penalty for missed overtime, and they’re still refusing to reduce the discipline retention period from 12 months down to 8. We made it clear that these are important issues, and we’ll continue to push for every gain that we can manage.

We also prepared today to present our economic proposals next week. We’re getting everything in order now so we can stay ahead of the game when those discussions begin.

We’ll keep you updated as things progress. Thank you for staying strong, informed, and united! Your support gives us the strength we need at the table every day.

In solidarity,

Your Local 1821 Bargaining Team
