Your UAW Bargaining Team

Today, Monday October 6th, 2025, your elected bargaining committee began their 2025 negotiations on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement. On our side of the table as a whole, we had Charlie Coneeny, Lee Womble, Matthew Wypyszinski, Doug Powell, Jessica Miller, Craig Stout, Jorge Rodriguez, Chad Leazott, Nicholas Edgerton, Mike Grant, Andy Bertog, Adam Stevenson, and Fredy Rosado. All of your input, feedback, and contribution comes into play NOW. It’s time to see that solidarity both at the table, and at our Ocala facility. Wear your red, flaunt your pins, and work together.

Our first formal discussion at the bargaining table was productive and a healthy test of knowledge. We sat with the company from 10:00AM to 5:00PM, traded proposals for non-economic adjustments we’d like to see, and stood firm on your demands. We have not signed on any tentative agreements as of yet, and will be working through the evening on fine tuning what we plan to bring to the table tomorrow.

First off, we tackled some housekeeping concerns on each end. The company, without issue, accepted the two suggestions we presented, and we verbally agreed to 5 of the 9, which were grammar and clarification corrections from the company. As far as impactful changes go, we handed your proposals, received theirs, and clarified any opening questions that the bargaining team might have on definitions or intent.

Our Health and Safety branch of the UAW has also been working diligently on creating language that reflects the importance of staying safe in a job like ours, surrounded by potential risks. Mike Grant presented a very in depth and impressive 20 page proposal on the changes we would like to see.

We want to thank everyone for signing up for our texting service! So far we have over a whopping 400 members in counting signed up to receive updates, however in order to win a significant contract for Ocala, we need EVERYONE to participate, show up, and show out when needed if there happens to be a call to action. Tell your friends. Share the posts. STAND UP! Make sure everyone knows the manner that YOUR future is being discussed.

Thank you ALL for the constant support in your team. You’ll hear from us again very soon. Divided we beg, United we WIN.

In Solidarity,

UAW Local 1821 Bargaining Team
