I would like to first thank the members of Local 276 for letting me represent them as a Delegate to the 2023 Constitutional Bargaining Convention.  This was a week that held a wealth of information and support for the upcoming negotiations with General Motors, Ford, and Stellantis.

Last week your UAW Local 276 Constitutional Delegates attended the 2023 National Bargaining Convention.

The UAW bargaining conference opened as usual: delegates from across the country were there to give our national negotiating team general guidance concerning the resolutions that were submitted by members from every local, including ours.

UNIT 1 (GM) ALL NEW EMPLOYEE REFERRAL PROCESS

The Local Union and Management have come to an agreement to start a new referral process for employment at General Motors Arlington Assembly.  This process will ensure our members have a voice in who they work with and allows them to bring their friends and family to the front of the line.  After much discussion, the Local Union and Management have mutually agreed to the following:

1. Applicant / referred employee must apply on the hiring website portal.

Take-Home COVID-19 Tests Available

Free Take-Home COVID-19 Test at the Union Hall

Although we are no longer in a pandemic, COVID-19 continues to be a problem.  To ensure the safety of our members (active and retired) and their families, we have attained over 300 take-home COVID tests from General Motors.  The tests will be available at the Union Hall (2505 W. E. Roberts Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75051) while supplies last between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM Monday through Friday.  Let’s all stay safe!

We are in very difficult times, there are over 58,000 members of management in General Motors while there are 46,000 UAW members in General Motors. Management is conducting multiple rounds of separation from the company to try and correct this imbalance.
