29th Annual Rineyville Optimist Club Rodeo

Money raised at the rodeo, which include the ticket sales and concessions, go toward various projects and donations the club supports.

The Optimist Club focuses most of their donations on youth programs but they also donate to things such as a recent donation to Eastern Kentucky flood victims through the efforts of Hardin County Schools, breast cancer awareness and Christmas shopping for local children.  They take children Christmas shopping, then to a movie where they get popcorn and a drink and at the end of their day they get Burger King.  The Optimist Club also helps Mission Hope for Kids, help with various several local school organizations,  and provide scholarships to local high school kids each year. 

Additionally, the Optimist Club has started an annual fishing derby a couple of years ago.  Approximately 140 kids attended this year and the first 100 were given fishing poles and tackle, were fed lunch and given awards for most fish and biggest fish.  All proceeds for this event are put back into the community in some way.
