UAW Local 848 hosted the President of UAW Local 2360, on strike against Stellantis in Carrollton, during our October 15 Membership Meeting. Brother Cleo Wynn talked about going into the 4th week of the strike. He said that they are holding strong. Everyone was encouraged to visit the picket line at 2205 E Beltline Rd in Carrollton. UAW 816 is also picketing at 301 Freedom Drive in Roanoke.

Wynn was surprised that Local 848 already had gifts waiting for him. Chairman Adam Rondon had suggested earlier that we buy some things for the picketers. Our local had several sacks of fruit and a box of hand warmers for the Carrollton picketers. While Wynn spoke, Recording Secretary Gary Tessmar dug into his wallet for a cash contribution. It turned out everyone wanted to contribute, so we passed the hat and gathered $225 for tor the strikers.

Roanoke pickets are only active during the day, but Carrollton pickets 24/7. They always welcome solidarity supporters. Union people stick together
