Unions Select Their Candidates

The Texas AFl-CIO has published labor's endorsements for the May 26 primary election runoff. See https://www.facebook.com/share/p/15g1GoAnLkB/ 

At the top of the list is Marcos Velez for Lieutenant Governor -- the most powerful elected office in Texas. Velez is a Steelworker member and leader. State Senator Nathan Johnson (pictured at a retiree meeting) is running for the powerful Attorney General's position. Both are in runoffs.

Texas Alliance for Retired Americans also endorses candidates who are especially important to older Texans. They follow labor's endorsements. So far, TARA has endorsed Velez for Lt Gov, Johnson for Atty Gen, Garibay for state rep, and Jones for state rep. TARA expects to endorse more candidates, but these were hot ones in the runoffs.
