UAW Retiree Membership Rights & Responsibilities:
UAW retired members pay $36 per year in voluntary dues.
UAW retired members finance their own structure through retiree dues.
- Retiree dues also fund the UAW Retired Workers Department for their efforts on legislation, communication, education and representation on issues affecting retirees.
- Retirees run their own programs, elect their own officers, elect a retiree chairperson to sit on their local union Executive Board and elect delegates to their regional retired workers council.
- Retired UAW members can vote for local union officers and for delegates to the UAW Constitutional Convention.
- Retired members are entitled to continue to receive Solidarity magazine.
