2026 Standing Committee Appointment Posting

 

Members of UAW Local 276 (Units 1, 2, or 3) who are interested in applying for Chairperson or Co-Chairperson (Alternate) of a Standing Committee must do the following:

  1. You must be a member of Unit 1 (General Motors), Unit 2 (Acciona), or Unit 3 (Leadec) in good standing with UAW Local 276.

  2. You may pick up an application at the Union Hall beginning at 6:00 AM, July 1, 2026.

  3. You must go to the Union Hall to get an application.  If you have submitted an application for a Standing Committee Chairperson or Co-Chairperson (Alternate) previously, you will have to submit another form.

  4. You must turn in your application at the Union Hall only.

  5. The deadline for acceptance of applications is Friday, July 31, 2026, at 4:00 PM, at the Union Hall.  Any applications not at the Union Hall by the deadline will not be submitted for consideration.

  6. The applications will be presented to the Executive Board of UAW Local 276 on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, for its recommendation to the membership.

  7. The standing committees are:

    • Chaplaincy

    • Citizenship and Legislative (CAP)

    • Civil and Human Rights

    • Community Services

    • Conservation and Recreation

    • Constitution and Bylaws

    • Consumer Affairs

    • Education

    • LGBTQIA+

    • Local Union Communication Association  (LUCA)

    • Member-to-Member

    • Organizing

    • Union Label

    • Veterans’

    • Women’s
