UNIT 1 (GM) SHOP CHAIRPERSON’S REPORT
END-OF-YEAR 2025

KENNETH D. HINES
UNIT 1 (GM) SHOP CHAIRPERSON

THIS IS MY END-OF-YEAR CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

First, I would like to wish everyone and their families a Happy Holiday Season. Please enjoy the downtime and spend it with your significant others and loved ones—it is well needed and well deserved. If you are traveling, please take your time and stay safe. We want all our members to return next year well rested and full of cheer.

Below are a few important reminders:

FMLA RECERTIFICATION

All members will need to recertify their FMLA, as current certifications will expire on December 31, 2025. You cannot recertify earlier than January 2, 2026. Please be sure to read your entire FMLA packet and follow all listed instructions and guidelines.

63A & 63B RECERTIFICATION

All 63A/63B applications submitted prior to December 1, 2025, will be null and void. If you are interested in switching departments, you must submit a new application. Applications must be on file for seven (7) days prior to being considered for a department change.

2025 TUITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (TAP)

As the semester comes to an end, please remember to submit your dependent’s grade report into Bright Horizons to receive TAP benefits for the 2026 school year. Grades must be submitted within 30 days of the last day of class.

If you experience any issues, please contact Ms. Kimberly Baker-Jones at 817-652-2183 or via email at kimberly.baker@gm.com.

BLACKOUT DAY

January 5, 2026, is a Blackout Day and VRs may not be used on that date.

DOWNTIME ACCESS & SECURITY

For those working during downtime, please be aware that many gates will be closed for various reasons. Plan accordingly for plant entry.

Additionally, be sure to take all valuables home or ensure they are properly secured, as contractors will be in the building during the downtime period.

Please stay safe, enjoy your time off, and cherish time with your loved ones.

In Solidarity,
KENNY HINES
