We are proud to announce that Local 276 has a member on the Sub-Council Executive Board as well as one of the Top Negotiators in the upcoming 2023 General Motors National Contract Negotiations. Local 276 does not only have seat but a voice at the bargaining table, and all members of the Sub-Council Executive Board and Top Negotiators were unanimously elected to represent the membership. The task of completing the next round of contract negotiations will not be easy and we are advising the membership to start to prepare in case there is a work stoppage. The International Executive Board has taken steps to make it easier by giving members the ability to work a part-time job as well as increasing strike pay from $275 to $400 weekly. There have been many contracts completed recently that have set the standard of what we are bargaining for. We can look at John Deere contract, the General Motors LLC contract, and others. This comes at a time when our members are facing increased pressure from rising prices and less job security in hostile work environments from corporations. We ask that you stand together and give support for the individuals who are elected to represent us and this next round of National Negotiations.
