Important Announcement:
UAW Local 276 Under Administratorship

Dear Members:

I am posting this communication to inform you that, as of February 19, 2025, UAW Local 276 has officially entered Administratorship. This decision was made during the Administratorship Hearing held at Solidarity House in Detroit, Michigan, where the Executive Officers of our local were present.

The International Executive Board (IEB) conducted a thorough review of the circumstances, considering arguments from Region 8 Director Tim Smith and our Local Executive Board members. In accordance with Article 12, Sections 1, 2, 3, and 5 of the UAW Constitution, the IEB has exercised its authority to place our local under Administratorship. Director Tim Smith has been appointed as the administrator, granting him full authority and oversight over all operations within UAW Local 276.

Director Smith has assured us that he does not intend to remove any Officers or Representatives at this time; however, he maintains the authority to do so if necessary.

This Administratorship follows three unsuccessful attempts to pass the 14 mandated bylaws, as directed by UAW International President Shawn Fain. To discuss the implications of this Administratorship and the bylaws, we will hold special membership meetings on the following dates:

  • Sunday, March 16, 2025, at 2:00 PM

  • Monday, March 17, 2025, at 6:30 AM, 11:30 AM, and 2:30 PM

These meetings will take place at our local union hall (2505 W. E. Roberts Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75051), and will feature UAW Vice President Mike Booth, Region 8 Director Tim Smith, Assistant Director George Palmer, and their staff. They will answer any questions regarding our current status and what to expect. We encourage all members from units 1, 2, and 3 to attend any of the scheduled meetings at your convenience.

Thank you for your attention to this important matter. The Local Union Leadership appreciates your support and involvement as we navigate this transition together.

In solidarity,
Keith Crowell
President
UAW Local 276
