Phase #2 Special Attrition Program (SAP) Update 

Brothers and Sisters: 

We just had an online meeting with the UAW-GM Vice President Mike Booth that included Presidents and Chairpersons from all UAW-GM local unions. The meeting was to confirm the details for Phase 2 of the Special Attrition Program (SAP), which will be announced soon. The sign-up window for Phase 2 will be during November 2024 through January 2025 but as of today we do not know the exact dates. To be eligible for this round of the SAP, you must be pension retirement eligible by December 31, 2024. Also, you cannot retire until GM releases you to retire on the date that the corporation provides in 2025. There will be no limit on the number of production or skilled trades members allowed to participate in this program if it does not cause a curtailment to the pension fund. Remember, to participate in this program you are to retire during the 2025 calendar year on multiple dates spread throughout the year that the company provides. Those dates have not been decided yet, but we will update you later when we have more information. If you currently have a retirement date set or in process and would like to participate in the SAP, you will need to cancel that retirement paperwork and wait for the sign-up window to participate in the Program and receive the $50,000. This is the first update to the SAP and there will be more to come.
