TEMPARY TO PERMENANT TRANSITION

For the month of May, we will transition 46 individuals from temporary to permanent status.  We would like to extend our congratulations to all that made this transition.  It has been a long journey for many individuals and some people doubted if this day would ever come; we would just like to say CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!!!

ASK DON’T TAKE (FS)

I would like to report that our Doc. 8 disciplines have decreased by over 50% due to the use of the **Ask don’t Take **or as it has been so nicknamed the** FS system**.  So far this year we have had **4333** total working days excused since the beginning of 2023.  I just want to thank the membership for their participation in the process.

ANNUAL PREFORMANCE BONUS LUMP SUM PAYMENT 2023 — PARAGRAPH 99(a)

In accordance with the terms of the National Agreement, pursuant to Paragraph 99(a), eligible employees will receive a payment of $1,000 on Friday, June 11, 2023.

The eligibility date for receiving such payment is Saturday, May 15, 2023.  Eligible employees are defined as those whose status with the Company as of the eligibility date is one of the following:

• Active with seniority
• On temporary lay-off status
• On leave, pursuant to Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
• On one of the following Leaves of Absence, which has not exceeded ninety (90) days, as of the eligibility date:

• Informal (Paragraph 103)
• Formal (Paragraph 104)
• Sickness & Accident (Paragraphs 106/108)
• Military (Paragraphs 112 or 218a)
• Education (Paragraph 113)

OPEN PARKING LOT GATES TIMES

In an effort to keep our parking lot more secure and to reduce theft, Gate 5 will be closed during production hours.  If you need to access the plant during production hours use Gate 6, which is located on Abram Street.  All gates will open one hour before start of shift through one hour after start of shift.  The change will start on Monday, May 22nd.  Gate 6 (off Abram) will remain open at all times for entering and exiting the east lot.

GENERAL MOTORS NORTH AMERICA PROFITS– FIRST QUARTER 2023

The General Motors Company announced on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, their First Quarter North American earnings before income taxes is $2.4 billion dollars.

This Membership produces the greatest GM vehicles with the best quality and the highest profit margins, right here in the USA!  It is because of our UAW Membership these profits are possible.

SOLIDARITY WEDNESDAY

We would like to thank all members that are participating and wearing their Red Shirt on Wednesdays.  This shows a form of SOLIDARITY and is an important statement to the membership as well as management.

LETTING SOMEONE INTO THE PLANT - PIGGYBACKING

Piggybacking continues to be a problem.  Access to the facility has become a topic of discussion nationally due to some of the violent incidents that have occurred at other facilities.  Letting someone else access the plant off of your ring is a violation of Shop Rule #4.  Please do not allow anyone to piggyback or access the plant with your badge.  We have a lot of these cases that we are defending in Labor Relations; the penalty is from two weeks to discharge so please do not put yourself or your job in a bad situation from just being kind trying to let somebody else enter the facility.
