Constitution Corner
Article 10 - Officers and Elections
Section 1. The elective officers of the International Union shall be one (1) International President, one (1) International Secretary-Treasurer, three (3) International Vice Presidents, who shall be elected in a mail vote of a secret ballot by eligible members in good standing, and such International Executive Board Members as provided in Section 21 of this Article who shall also be elected in a mail vote of a secret ballot by eligible members in good standing within the geographical districts listed therein. In the event of the death, removal, or resignation of any of the three (3) Vice Presidents at any time after July 1, 2014, the International Executive Board shall have the authority to reduce the number of Vice Presidents from three (3) to two (2). The duties of the Vice Presidents shall be to assist the International President.

  • Did you know former felons can vote again?

    • When people have a felony in their past, once they are off paper THEY CAN VOTE!

    • If someone was convicted AND is now done will all punishment (“off the paper”) that person can vote again!

    • That means:

      • Out of prison or jail AND

      • Done with parole, supervision, or probation

      • Or received a pardon
        ...THEN GET REGISTERED TO VOTE!

  • Key upcoming dates that have not passed for the 2026 IEB Election are included below. This information is also included on the Infor-mal Notice of 2026 Election, posted on the Monitor’s website at www.uawmonitor.com/elections.

    • September 23, 2026: Final date by which replacement ballots can be requested from the Election Vendor at www.uawmonitor.com/ballots or by calling 855-433-8683.

    • September 30, 2026: Final date by which members must be in good standing in order to have their vote counted in the Election.

    • October 5, 2026: Deadline for all return ballots to be received by the designated U.S. Post Office in order to be counted.

    • October 6, 2026: Vote tabulation begins (Rosemont, IL).
