- February 22-28 Financial Officers’ Conference in New Orleans, LA (8 attendees)
- February 25 Black History Month special event in the cafeteria will include refreshments and light snacks on ALL shifts during designated lunch times

- At the February membership meeting, the UAW Local 276 membership voted to remodel the union hall. More info to come!
- The Arlington Chapter of GMAAN (General Motors African Ancestry Network) would like to invite you to its Black History Museum in the cafeteria located near column W8.
- This museum will be open from Friday, February 1st until Saturday, February 28th. This year’s museum theme is: African American Inventors in the Automotive & Manufacturing Industry.
- Applications are now being accepted for the 2026 UAW Family Scholar-ship program in Black Lake, MI! To apply or for more information, please visit https://uaw.org/education/family-scholarship. REGISTRATION DEADLINE is June 1, 2026.
- The STARC survey open enrollment period is January 23 - February 23, 2026! This period is for all Candidates who completed the program from July 1 - December 31, 2025, as well as any existing candidates who wish to update their selections.
- Internal candidates will receive their surveys from the Local Apprentice Committee (LAC). Existing Candidates wishing to update their selections need to visit their LAC for a copy of the survey to complete. Internal Candidates must return surveys to the LAC.
- External candidates were emailed a survey by the National Apprentice Committee. The surveys were sent to the email on file with Penn Foster. External Candidates must return surveys to the NAC at apprentice.committee@gm.com.
Constitution Corner
Article 26 - Civil and Human Rights Department
- Section 1. There is hereby created a department to be known as the Civil and Human Rights Department of the International Union. of the International Union as provided in this Constitution.
- Section 4. The Department shall be charged with the duty of implementing the policies of the International Union dealing with discrimination, as these policies are set forth in the International Constitution and as they may be evidenced by action of the International Executive Board and of International Conventions, and to give all possible assistance and guidance to Local Unions in the furtherance of their duties as set forth in this Article, and to carry out such further duties as may be assigned to it from time to time by the International President or the International Executive Board.
- Section 5. It shall be mandatory that each Local Union set up a Civil and Human Rights Committee. The specific duties of this Committee shall be to promote fair employment practices and endeavor to eliminate discrimina-tion affecting the welfare of the individual members of the Local Union, the International Union, the labor movement and the nation.
