Starbucks workers have begun a strike and nationwide boycott. When they win a good contract, and they will if we all get behind them, then this pattern can be used to win over any national corporation such as Wal-Mart or Amazon.

Unions are enjoying our highest approval ratings since the 1950s. The great majority of the American people believe that the system is broken and that the union movement is just what we need to fix it. Unions are democratic, unions are strong, and unions are popular!

UAW Local 848's Membership Meetings are 2nd Sundays at 2PM at 2218 E Main in Grand Prairie. All members and retirees, and their families, are invited. Leadership is required to attend. Virtually everything the union does is approved at Membership Meetings, and our decisions affect everybody.

Local 848 members at Qarbon in Red Oak, Texas, ratified their new contract by a hefty majority. Chairman Adam Rondon told the April membership meeting that they had finally rid themselves of management's worst practices and made good improvements for the members and their families.
