Local 848 retirees and our friends in the Mid-Cities are doing our best to keep our seniors' program going. We meet on the 2nd Thursday of June. Communications Workers Retiree President Bonnie Mathias was our speaker.

Local 848 retirees and other Mid-Cities retirees gathered for our regular 2nd Thursday luncheon on May 14. UAW Local 129, which shares our hall, had important democracy work to do in the auditorium, so we squeezed into the conference room. It was like a family dinner!

Next, we will restore our regular monthly retiree meetings at 11AM on 2nd Thursdays at the hall. Please come!

Local 848's retirees are hosting a cookout at our hall, 2218 E Main, at noon on May 1st. Gerardo Contreras has agreed to cook fajitas for all members and seniors.

The Texas AFl-CIO has published labor's endorsements for the May 26 primary election runoff.

Ice and snow caused Local 848 to postpone its January meeting until February 1 at 2PM at 2218 E Main in Grand Prairie. All members and families are welcome. Retirees are in limbo and have not held a 2nd Thursday meeting for several months. 

All our meetings are interesting.
